To start off my blog, I would like to say "Right on" to all of the people who were apart of the Shakespeare Dinner. It was absolutely wonderful. Everyone who performed did a great job. I went on Saturday and I can honestly say that if I had known the acting was going to be that good, I would've gone to all of the performances. The whole drama club did a great job setting the mood, staying in character, and entertaining the audience through out the full 2 hours. After seeing the performance, I was actually very jealous. I wished that I had been in the Shakespeare dinner. It seemed like they were having so much fun with their fancy costumes, British accents, and Shakespeare scenes. There were quite a few kissing scenes as well. That is always a plus in my book.
Since Thompson's class just got done with Romeo and Juliet, it was cool to see bits and pieces of Shakespeare's other plays. I actually understood what they were saying, and during the balcony seen, I could mouth the words along with Juliet. I'm sure some people thought that it was boring, but they are lame. Shakespeare may seem boring when you read it, but watching the drama club act out the plays was so fun. Personally, going to the Shakespeare Theater helped me understand Shakespeare more. It is hard to understand Shakespeare's message when you are mulling through it in a massive purple text, but once you see the fight scenes brought to life and the death scenes right in front of your eyes, it all kind of clicks.
What was my favorite scene? Well, seeing Jake Rose run around with his shirt off for two hours was satisfying enough for me, but I must say that I really liked the one big death scene. The scene was from Othello and Adam Croft played Othello and Katy Bertram was Desdemona. In this scene, Othello suspects that Desdemona has cheated on him, so he plans to kill her. After accusing Desdemona of cheating, and after Desdemona tries to make Othello believe that she stayed loyal to him, Othello strangles Desdemona. Katy and Adam played this scene really well. Katy's death was very convincing and it was kind of scary seeing one of my friends being strangled to death. Props to Adam and Katy for that awesome scene. I also enjoyed Brittany's fight scene and Janica Sparrow's scene with Chayse Vance. Both were intense and funny. The Shakespeare dinner was awesome, and if you didn't get a chance to see it, you seriously missed out.

I went to the dinner too! You are right, it was really good. Haha, ya seeing Jake Rose without a shirt was pretty good. My favorite scene was the one with Brittany and Jenica fighting, that one was really convincing and funny.
Katy was a very convincing dyer. Hmmm, muscles. Haha. I thought it was funny how almost every scene involved love, what does that tell you about Shakespeare?
Ha ha, dinner theater was very fun! The actors/actresses were very enthusiastic!
